Welcome! Were you on the old AH?

Have you always been with your current hybrid RIA? If not, where do you get your start?

I was on the old board under the same name, I was just a lurker mostly.

I started at Jones in '19, but left early in '21 because we were still being kept from prospecting and the pipeline was drying up. I joined with the firm I'm currently with now, and have been there since. Definitely glad I switched though because they payout is substantially better.

Dumb. I talked about it a bit on the old board as I was just starting out, but I started door knocking in Sept of 2019, and I officially made it through my post-LYP probationary period in Feb 2020 and then Covid hit. I eventually resorted to buying lists and cold calling, sending out mailers, and established connections with the businesses in the area through the Chamber because they moved their meetings to Zoom. It was a massive amount of activity which kept the growth officers happy, and I would get one offs here or there, but nothing substantial enough to build on, so I set up my exit strategy. I'm so much happier now because my firm has a very similar structure to Jones in terms of home office and compliance support, but no partners to pay for, so I make double what I would have made there for the same amount of money.
